Ummul Qura Masjid and Multicultural Community Centre
Why give to Ummul Qura Masjid?
The Ummul Qura Masjid and Multicultural Community Centre is building a vision for unity and spiritual growth for the Perth Muslim community and broader Western Australia.
An initiative by the Islamic Circle of Australia and New Zealand, it is a project that extends a journey of immense opportunities through perpetual charity – Sadaqa Jariyyah.
Allah SWT told us in the Quran that if someone builds a masjid, it is a sign that he has faith in his heart.
The Messenger of Allah (swt) said:
“Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise”
About Ummul Qura Mosque
This property is located in Maddington in the City of Gosnells in the Greater Perth metropolitan area. 12% of the population in the city of Gosnells is Muslim. The LGA also has one of the highest percentages of Muslims in Perth.
Thus, this masjid will insha’Allah be of great benefit to the Muslims living in this area, as well as beyond.
Our aim is to make this masjid as closely aligned with the Masjid An-Nabawi of the time of the Prophet ﷺ as possible. That was a masjid where all believers – men, women and children – could find a home in. Children used to play in the masjid, guests used to stay there, halaqah of Ilm used to be organised there and the companions used to enjoy time together narrating stories and poetry.
Indeed, the masjid was the heart of the community. As such, the proposed project (64 Eva St Maddington, WA, 6109) will insha’Allah be a similar masjid that welcomes all believers of all backgrounds and ages. It will provide the following services to the community from its 3288 m^2 premises, including:
