Water Crisis in Lebanon

Lebanon is in the midst of an ongoing and debilitating socioeconomic crisis.  More than 80 per cent of the entire population lives under the poverty line.

The aftermath of the 2020 Beirut explosion and the rising cost of living across the world have also deepened the poverty crisis for many households, and access to safe, clean water has become one of the direst issues in the region.

Islamic Relief Water Projects in Lebanon

Our Response and the Impact of Your Support

Thanks to your donations, Islamic Relief teams have been able to directly benefit some of the most vulnerable individuals and families across villages in Akkar Governate, North Lebanon.

Your donations have helped experts install a solar power plant to operate, rehabilitate and upgrade three non-functioning water schemes, providing quality, reliable and equitable water access to a staggering 12,000 people, Subhan’Allah.

In addition, our teams on the ground are distributing personal hygiene kits and conducting awareness sessions for 500 individuals to help prevent the spread of disease as they navigate the crisis.

Our projects to build and maintain WASH facilities for vulnerable communities within Lebanon remain ongoing. Help us continue our life-saving work.
