“It is preferable to offer Duha prayer when the sun’s heat has become so intense that even the young of the camels feel it.” 

Sahih Muslim

“In the morning charity is due from every bone in the body of every one of you. Every utterance of Allah’s glorification is an act of charity. Every utterance of praise of Him is an act of charity, every utterance of profession of His Oneness is an act of charity, every utterance of profession of His Greatness is an act of charity, enjoining good is an act of charity, forbidding what is disreputable is an act of charity, and two raka’at which one prays in the forenoon will suffice.”

Sahih Muslim

Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) narrated that Allah, Blessed and Most High said: “Son of Adam: Perform four raka’at for Me in the beginning of the day it will suffice you for the latter part of it.” 

Jami` at-Tirmidhi

“Whoever prays Fajr in congregation, then sits remembering Allah until the sun has risen, then he prays two raka’at, then for him is the reward like that of a Hajj and Umrah.” He said: “The Messenger of Allah said: ‘Complete, complete, complete.'” 

Jami` at-Tirmidhi

Inna li-llahi wa Inna ilayhi Raaji’un.

إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّآ إِلَيْهِ رَٰجِعُونَ

Verily we belong to Allah, and verily to Him do we return. 

Qur’an | Surah Al Baqarah | 2:156

Allaahummaghfir li (name of the person) warfa’ darajatahu fil-mahdiyyeena, wakhlufhu fee ‘aqibihi fil-ghaabireena , waghfir-lanaa wa lahu yaa Rabbal-‘aalameena, wafsah lahu fee qabrihi wa nawwir lahu feehi.

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ فِي سَفْرِنَا هَذَا الْبِرَّ وَالتَّقْوَى ، وَمِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تَرْضَى ، اللَّهُمَّ هَوِّنْ عَلَيْنَا سَفَرَنَا هَذَا وَاطْوِ عَّنَّا بُعْدَهُ ، اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الصَّاحِبُ فِي السَّفَرِ، وَالْخَلِيفَةُ فِي الأَهْلِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ وَعْثَاءِ السَّفَرِ، وَكآبَةِ الْمَنْظَرِ وَسُوءِ المُنْقَلَبِ فِي الْمَالِ وَالأَهْلِ

O Allah, forgive (name of the person) and elevate his station among those who are guided. Send him along the path of those who came before, and forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds. Enlarge for him his grave and shed light upon him in it. 

Hadith | Muslim 2-634

Allāhumma’ghfir lahu warḥamh, wa `āfihi, wa`fu `anh, wa akrim nuzulah, wa wassi` mudkhalah, wagh’silhu bi ‘lmā’i wath-thalji walbarad, wa naqqihi mina ‘l-khaṭāyā kamā naqqaytath-thawba ‘l-abyaḍa minad-danas, wa abdilhu dāran khayran min dārih, wa ahlan khayran min ahlih, wa zawjan khayran min zawjih, wa adkhilhu ‘l-jannah, wa a`idhhu min `adhābi ‘l-qabri [wa `adhābin-nār].

اللهُـمِّ اغْفِـرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْـه ، وَعافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْـه ، وَأَكْـرِمْ نُزُلَـه ، وَوَسِّـعْ مُدْخَـلَه ، وَاغْسِلْـهُ بِالْمـاءِ وَالثَّـلْجِ وَالْبَـرَدْ ، وَنَقِّـهِ مِنَ الْخطـايا كَما نَـقّيْتَ الـثَّوْبَ الأَبْيَـضَ مِنَ الدَّنَـسْ ، وَأَبْـدِلْهُ داراً خَـيْراً مِنْ دارِه ، وَأَهْلاً خَـيْراً مِنْ أَهْلِـه ، وَزَوْجَـاً خَـيْراً مِنْ زَوْجِه ، وَأَدْخِـلْهُ الْجَـنَّة ، وَأَعِـذْهُ مِنْ عَذابِ القَـبْر [وَعَذابِ النّـار]

O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, and give him strength and pardon him. Be generous to him, and enlarge his entrance (to his abode), and wash him with water and snow and hail. Cleanse him of his transgressions as white cloth is cleansed of stains. Give him an abode better than his home, and a family better than his family, and a wife better than his wife. Take him into Paradise, and protect him from the punishment of the grave [and from the punishment of Hell-fire]. 

Muslim 3-598

 Allahumma abduka wabnu amatika ihtaaja ila rahmatik wa anta ghaniyyun ‘an ‘adhaabih, in kaana muhsinan fazid fee hasanaatih, wa in kaana musee-an, fatajaawaz ‘anhu.

اللَّهُمَّ عَبْدُكَ وَابْنُ أَمَتِكَ احْتَاجَ إِلَى رَحْمَتِكَ، وَأَنْتَ غَنِيٌّ عَنْ عَذَابِهِ، إِنْ كَانَ مُحْسِناً فَزِدْ فِي حَسَنَاتِهِ، وَإِنْ كَانَ مُسِيئاً فَتَجَاوَزْ عَنْهُ

Oh Allah, this son of a servant of yours is now in need of Your mercy and You are not in need of punishing that person. If he was pious then increase his rewards, and if he was a transgressor then pardon him. 

Hadith | Al-Hakim

Allaahum-maghfir lahu Allaahumma thabbithu

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ الَّلهُمَّ ثَبِّتْهُ

O Allah, forgive him. O Allah, strengthen him.

Hadith | Abu Dawud

A’udhu bi kalimaat-illaahit-taammah min kulli shaytaanin, wa haammah, wa min kulli ‛aynin laammah.

أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ، وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لاَمَّةٍ ‏”‏‏.

O Allah, I seek Refuge with Your Perfect Words from every devil and from poisonous pests and from every evil, harmful, envious eye.

Hadith | Bukhari

Qul Huwa-llāhu Aḥad. Allāhu-ṣ-Ṣamad. Lam yalid wa lam yūlad. Wa lam yakul-lahū kufuwan aḥad.

قُلْ هُوَ اللّٰهُ أَحَدٌ ، اَللّٰهُ الصَّمَدُ ، لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُوْلَدْ ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ

Say, He is Allah, the One, the Self-Sufficient Master, Who has not given birth and was not born, and to Whom no one is equal.

Qul aʿūdhu bi-Rabbi-l-falaq. Min sharri mā khalaq. Wa min sharri ghāsiqin idhā waqab. Wa min sharri-n-naffāthāti fi-l-ʿuqad. Wa min sharri ḥāsidin idhā ḥasad.

قُلْ أَعُوْذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ، مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ

Say, I seek protection of the Lord of the daybreak, from the evil of what He has created, and from the evil of the darkening night when it settles, and from the evil of the blowers in knots, and from the evil of the envier when he envies.

Qul aʿūdhu bi-Rabbi-n-nās. Maliki-n-nās. Ilāh-hin-nās. Min sharri-l-waswāsi-l-khannās. Al-ladhī yuwaswisu fī ṣudūri-n-nās. Mina-l-jinnati wa-n-nās.

قُلْ أَعُوْذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ، مَلِكِ النَّاسِ ، إِلٰهِ النَّاسِ ، مِنْ شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ ، اَلَّذِيْ يُوَسْوِسُ فِيْ صُدُوْرِ النَّاسِ ، مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ

Say, I seek protection of the Lord of mankind, the King of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the whisperer who withdraws, who whispers in the heart

Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wadhurriyatina qurrata a’yunin wa-jalna lil-muttaqina imama

رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا

Our Lord, grant us from among our spouses and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.

Qur’an | Surah Al-Furqan | 25:74

Rabbi hab lii minas-solihiin.

رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ

My Lord! Bless me with righteous offspring.

Qur’an | Surah As-Saffat | 37:100

Rabbij-’alni muqimas-solati wa min zurriyyati, Rabbana wa taqabbal du’aa.

رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي مُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةِ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي ۚ رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَاءِ

My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.

Qur’an | Surah Ibrahim | 14:40

Rabbi hab lee mil ladunka d’urriyyatan t’ayyibah innaka samee-u’d du-a’aa

 رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً ۖ إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاء

My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication.

Qur’an | Surah Al-Imran | 3:38

Allahumma rahmataka arju, fala takilni ila nafsi tarfata ‘ayn, wa as-lih li sha’ni kul-lahu, la illaha il-la anta.

اللّهُـمَّ رَحْمَتَـكَ أَرْجـوفَلا تَكِلـني إِلى نَفْـسي طَـرْفَةَ عَـيْن، وَأَصْلِـحْ لي شَأْنـي كُلَّـه لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أنْـت

O Allah, I hope for Your mercy. Do not leave me to myself even for the blinking of an eye (i.e. a moment). Correct all of my affairs for me. There is none worthy of worship but You. 

Hadith | Abu Dawud

Bārakallāhu laka fi ‘l-mawhūbi lak, wa shakarta ‘l-wāhib, wa balagha ashuddah, wa ruziqta birrah.

بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ فِي الـمَوْهُوبِ لَكَ، وَشَكَرْتَ الوَاهِبَ، وبَلَغَ أشُدَّهُ، وَرُزِقْتَ بِرَّهُ

 May Allah bless you in His gift to you, may you give thanks to the giver of this gift, may the child reach the maturity of years, and may you be granted its righteousness.

Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wadhurriyatina qurrata a’yunin wa-jalna lil-muttaqina imama.

رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا

Our Lord, grant us from among our spouses and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.

Qur’an | Surah Al-Furqan | 25:74

Allahumma innee a’uzubika min alhammi wal huzni wal ajzi wal kasli wal bukhli wal jubni wa dala’id dayni wa galabatir rijaal.

رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ

Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You]

Quran | Surah Al-A’raf | 7:126

Ya Muqallibal qulub, thabbit qalbi ‘ala dinik.

يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ

O Turner of hearts, set firm my heart upon Your religion.

Hadith | Sunan Tirmidhi

Rabbana afrigh alayna sabran wa thabbit aqdamana wansurna alal-qawmil-kafirin.

رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْراً وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانصُرْنَا عَلَى القَوْمِ الكَافِرِينَ

Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people.

Quran | Surah Al-Baqarah | 2:250

Allāhumma innī asʾaluka al-thabāta fī-al-amri wa-al-ʿazīmata ʿalá al-rushd

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الثَّبَاتَ فِي الْأَمْرِ وَالْعَزْمَةَ عَلَى الرُّشْدِ

 O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in the matter (of religion) and I ask You for determination upon guidance.

Hadith | al-Tirmidhī and al-Nasāʾī

A`ūdhu billāhi wa qudratihi min sharri mā ajidu wa uḥādhir

أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ وَقُدْرَتِهِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَجِدُ وَأُحَاذِرُ

I seek refuge in Allah and in His Power from the evil of what I find and of what I guard against.

Hadith | Sahih Al-Muslim

Allahumma Rabban-naasi adhhibil-ba’sa washfi Antash-Shaafi laa shifaa’a illaa shifaa’uk shifaa’an laa yughaadiru saqamaa.

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ أَذْهِبِ الْبَأْسَ وَاشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ شِفَاءٌ لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمَا

O Allah, the Lord of mankind, remove the difficulty and bring about healing as You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that will leave no ailment.

Hadith | Sahih Al-Bukhari

Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wadhurriyatina qurrata a’yunin wa-jalna lil-muttaqina imama.

رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا

Qur’an | Surah Al-Furqan | 25:74

Rabbi inni limā anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqīr

رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ

My lord, I am in absolute need of the good You send me. 

Qur’an | Surah al-Qasas | 28:24

Baarakallaahu laka, wa baaraka ‘alayka, wa jama’a baynakumaa fee khayrin.

بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ، وَبَارَكَ عَلَيْكَ، وَجَمَعَ بَيْنَكُمَا فِي خَيْرٍ

May Allah bless you, and shower His blessings upon you, and join you together in goodness. 

Hadith | Abu Dawood 2130

Rabbi awzi’nī an ashkura ni’matakal-latī an’amta ‘alayya wa ‘ala wālidayya wa an a’mala salihan tardhāhu wa adkhilnī birahmatika fī ‘ibādikas-soliheen

رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَأَدْخِلْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِي عِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ

My Lord, inspire me to (always) be thankful for the blessings You have granted me and my parents, and to do good deeds that please You; admit me by Your grace into the ranks of Your righteous servants

Qur’an | Surah An-Naml | 27:19

Qur’an | Surah Ibrahim | 14:41

Rabbana-ghfirlī wa liwālidayya wa lilmu’minīna yauma yaqūmul-hisāb

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ

Our Lord! Forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the Day when the judgment will come to pass.

Qur’an | Surah Ibrahim | 14:41

Rabbi irhamhuma kama rabbayanee sagheera.

رَّبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا

My Lord! Be merciful to them as they raised me when I was young.

Qur’an | Surah Al-Isra | 17:24

Bismillahi tawakkaltu ‘ala Allah, la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ

In the name of Allah, I trust in Allah, there is no power or strength except with Allah.

Hadith | Tirmidhi

Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, subhanal-lathee sakhkhara lana hatha wama kunna lahu muqrineen, wa-inna ila rabbina lamunqaliboon, Allahumma inna nas-aluka fee safarina hatha albirra wattaqwa, waminal-amali ma tarda, Allahumma hawwin alayna safarana hatha, watwi anna bu’dah, Allahumma antas-sahibu fis-safar, walkhaleefatu fil-ahl, Allahumma innee aoothu bika min wa’tha-is-safar, waka-abatil-manthar, wasoo-il-munqalabi fil-mali wal-ahl.

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ فِي سَفْرِنَا هَذَا الْبِرَّ وَالتَّقْوَى ، وَمِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تَرْضَى ، اللَّهُمَّ هَوِّنْ عَلَيْنَا سَفَرَنَا هَذَا وَاطْوِ عَّنَّا بُعْدَهُ ، اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الصَّاحِبُ فِي السَّفَرِ، وَالْخَلِيفَةُ فِي الأَهْلِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ وَعْثَاءِ السَّفَرِ، وَكآبَةِ الْمَنْظَرِ وَسُوءِ المُنْقَلَبِ فِي الْمَالِ وَالأَهْلِ

Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest, How perfect He is, The One Who has placed this (transport) at our service, and we ourselves would not have been capable of that, and to our Lord is our final destiny. (Q, 43: 13-14) O Allah, we ask You for Birr (righteousness) and Taqwa (piety) in this journey of ours, and we ask You for deeds which please You. O Allah, facilitate our journey and let us cover its distance quickly. O Allah, You are The Companion on the journey and The Successor over the family, O Allah, I take refuge with You from the difficulties of travel, from having a change of hearts and being in a bad predicament, and I take refuge in You from an ill fated outcome with wealth and family.

Bismillahi, majreha wa mursaha. Inna Rabbi laghafoorur rahim.

بِسْمِ اللهِ، مَجْرَاهَا وَمُرْسَاهَا، إِنَّ رَبِّي لَغَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ

In the name of Allah, whether it moves or is at rest. For my Lord is, be sure, Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful!

Qur’an | Surah Al-Hud | 11:41

Subhana-alladhi sakh-khara la-na hadha wa ma kunna la-hu muqrinin. Wa inna ila Rabbi-na la munqalibun.

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ

Glory unto Him Who created this transportation, for us, though we were unable to create it on our own. And unto our Lord we shall return.

Qur’an | Surah Az-Zukhruf | 43:13-14

Allahumma hawwin alayna safarana hadha wa twi anna bu’dahu, Allahumma anta al-sahibu fis-safari wa al-khalifatu fil-ahli, Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min wa’tha’ is-safar wa ka’abat il-manzari wa suu’ il-munqalabi fil-mali wal-ahli.

اللَّهُمَّ هَوِّنْ عَلَيْنَا سَفَرَنَا هَذَا وَاطْوِ عَنَّا بُعْدَهُ، اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الصَّاحِبُ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْخَلِيفَةُ فِي الأَهْلِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ وَعْثَاءِ السَّفَرِ وَكَآبَةِ الْمَنْظَرِ وَسُوءِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ فِي الْمَالِ وَالأَهْلِ

O Allah, make easy for us our journey and shorten its distance. O Allah, You are the companion on the journey and the guardian of the family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the difficulties of travel, unpleasant sights, and changes in fortune in wealth and family.

Allahumma rabbas samawatis sab’i wa ma azlalna, wa rabbal aradinas sab’i wa ma aqlalna, wa rabbash-shayatini wa ma adlalna, wa rabbar riyahi wa ma zaraina, as’aluka khaira hadzihil qaryah wa khaira ahliha, wa khaira ma fiha, wa a’udzubika min sharriha wa sharri ahliha, wa sharri ma fiha.

اللّـهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّـمَوَاتِ السّـبْعِ وَمَا أَظْلَلْنَ، وَرَبَّ الأَرَاضِيـنَ السّـبْعِ وَما أقْلَلْنَ، وَرَبَّ الشَّيَـاطِينِ وَمَا أَضْلَلْنَ، وَرَبَّ الرِّياحِ وَمَا ذَرَيْـنَ، أَسْـأَلُـكَ خَيْـرَ هذهِ الْقَـرْيَةِ وَخَيْـرَ أَهْلِـهَا، وَخَيْـرَ مَا فِيْهَا، وَأَعُـوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَـرِّها وَشَـرِّ أَهْلِـها، وَشَـرِّ مَا فِيْهَا 

O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and all that they envelope, Lord of the seven earths and all that they carry, Lord of the devils and all whom they misguide, Lord of the winds and all whom they whisk away. I ask You for the goodness of this village, the goodness of its inhabitants and for all the goodness found within it and I take refuge with You from the evil of this village, the evil of its inhabitants and from all the evil found within it.

Hadith | Mustadrak Al-Hakim & An-Nasai

Rabbi adkhilnee mudkhala sidqinw wa akhrijnee mukhraja sidqinw waj’al lee milladunka sultaanan naseeraa

رَبِّ أَدْخِلْنِي مُدْخَلَ صِدْقٍ وَأَخْرِجْنِي مُخْرَجَ صِدْقٍ وَاجْعَلْ لِي مِنْ لَدُنْكَ سُلْطَانًا نَصِيرًا

My Lord, cause me to enter a sound entrance and to exit a sound exit and grant me from Yourself a supporting authority.

Qur’an | Surah Al-Isra | 17:80

Aiboona, ta’iboona, ‘abidoona, lirabbina hamidoon.

آيِبُونَ، تَائِبُونَ، عَابِدُونَ، لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ

Returning, repenting, worshipping, and praising our Lord.

Bismillahi wa lajna, wa bismillahi kharajna, wa ‘ala rabbina tawakkalna.

بِسْـمِ اللّهِ وَلَجْنـَا، وَبِسْـمِ اللّهِ خَـرَجْنـَا، وَعَلَـى رَبِّنـَا تَوَكّلْـنَا

In the name of Allah we enter, in the name of Allah we leave, and upon our Lord, we rely.

Hadith | Abu Dawud

Rabbana atina fiddunia hasanatan wa fil aakhirati hasanatan wa qina ‘azabannar

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ الْهَمِّ وَالْحُزْنِ وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ

Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

Qur’an | Surah Al-Baqarah | 2:201

Wama tawfeeqee illa billahi alayhi tawakkaltu wa-ilayhi oneeb.

وَمَا تَوْفِيقِي إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ ۚ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ

My success is not but through Allah. Upon him I have relied, and to Him I return.

Qur’an | Surah Al-Hud | 11:88

Rabbi zidni ilma

ربِّ زِدْنِي عِلْماً

My Lord, increase me in knowledge. 

Qur’an | Surah At-Taha | 20:114

Rabbi a’inni wa-la tu’in ‘alayya, wa-nsurni wa-la tansur ‘alayya, wa-mkur-li wa-la tamkur alayya, wa-hdini wa-yassir-il-huda ilayya, wa-nsurni ‘ala man bagha ‘alayya

رَبِّ أَعِنِّي وَلَا تُعِنْ عَلَيَّ، وَانْصُرْنِي وَلَا تَنْصُرْ عَلَيَّ، وَامْكُرْ لِي وَلَا تَمْكُرْ عَلَيَّ، وَاهْدِنِي وَيَسِّرِ الهُدَى إِلَيَّ، وَانْصُرْنِي عَلَى مَنْ بَغَى عَلَيَّ

My Lord, aid me and do not aid against me, and grant me victory and do not grant victory over me, plan for me and do not plan against me, guide me and facilitate guidance for me, grant me victory over those who transgress against me.

Hadith | Tirmidhi & Abu Dawud

Allahumma la sahla illa ma ja’altahu sahla, wa ‘anta taj’alul hazna idha shi’ta sahla.

اللهُمَّ لا سَهْلَ إلا مَا جَعَلتَهُ سَهْلا وَ أنتَ تَجْعَلُ الحزْنَ إذا شِئْتَ سَهْلا

O Allah, there is no ease except in what You make easy. If You wish, You can make the difficulty easy.

Hadith | Sahih Ibn Hibban

Allahumma inni astaudi’uka ma qara’tu wa ma hafiztu wa ma ta’allamtu, fardudhu li ilayya ‘inda haajati ilayh, innaka ‘ala kulli shai-in qadir, wa hasbunallahu wa ni’mal wakil.

اللّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَودِعُكَ مَا قَرَأتُ وَمَا حَفِظْتُ وَمَا تَعَلَّمْتُ فَرْدُدْه لِي إِلَيَّ عِنْدَ حَاجَتِي إِلَيْهِ ،[ إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِير وَحَسْبُنَا اللهُ وَنِعْم الوَكِيل

O Allah! I entrust You with what I have read and what I have memorised and I have studied. Bring it back to me when I am in need of it. [Truly you have power over all things.] [Sufficient for us is Allah, and (He is) the best Disposer of affairs.]

Qur’an | Surah Ali-Imran | 3:26; 3:173

Rabbi ishrah lee sadree Wayassir lee amree. Wah lul uqdatam mil lisanee Yafqahu qawlee

رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِى صَدْرِى – وَيَسِّرْ لِى أَمْرِى وَٱحْلُلْ عُقْدَةًۭ مِّن لِّسَانِى يَفْقَهُوا۟ قَوْلِى

O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness); Ease my task for me. And remove the impediment from my tongue, so people may understand my speech.

Qur’an | Surah At-Taha | 20:25-28

Allahumma inni as’aluka ‘ilman nafi’an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا وَعَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلاً

O Allah! I ask You for knowledge that is of benefit, a good provision and deeds that will be accepted.

Hadith | Sunan Ibn Majah

Alhamdulillahilladhee ahyana ba’da ma amatana wa ilayhin-nushoor.

الحَمْـدُ لِلّهِ الّذي أَحْـيانا بَعْـدَ ما أَماتَـنا وَإليه النُّـشور

All praise belongs to Allah Who has restored us back to life after causing us to die; and to Him shall we return.

Hadith | Bukhari

Allahumma anta rabbi la ilaha illa anta, khalaqtani wa-ana ‘abduk, wa-ana ‘ala ‘ahdika wawa‘dika mas-tata‘t, a‘oothu bika min sharri ma sana‘t, aboo-o laka bini‘matika ‘alay, wa-aboo-o bithanbee, faghfir lee fa-innahu la yaghfiru-thunaba illa ant.

اللّٰهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي، لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِيْ وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَىَّ وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنْبِيْ، فَاغْفِرْ لِيْ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوْبَ إِلَّاأَنْتَ۔

O Allah! You are my Rabb. There is no true god except You. You have created me, and I am Your slave, and I hold to Your Covenant as far as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge the favours that You have bestowed upon me, and I confess my sins. Pardon me, for none but You has the power to pardon.

Bismillahil-ladhi la yadurru ma’as-mihi shai’un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama’i, wa Huwas-Sami’ul-‘Alim.

بسم الله الذي لا يضر مع اسمه شيء في الأرض ولا في السماء وهو السميع العليم

In the Name of Allah with Whose Name there is protection against every kind of harm in the earth or in the heaven, and He is the All-Hearing and All- Knowing),’ nothing will harm him.

Radhitu Billahi Rabba wabil-Islāmi dīnan wa bi-Muḥammadin nabiyyan.

رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا وَبِالإِسْلاَمِ دِينًا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيًّا

I am pleased with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion and with Muhammad (ﷺ) as my Prophet. 

Hadith | Abu Dawud

As-bah-na wa as-ba-hal mulku lil-lahi rabbil-aa-la-mîn. Allahumma innî as’aluka khay-ra ha-zal-yawm, fat-ha-hu wa nas-ra-hu, wa nu-ra-hu wa bara-ka-ta-hu wa hu-da-hu, Wa aa-u-zu bika min shar-ri ma fîhi, wa shar-ri ma ba’-dah.

أَصْبَـحْـنا وَأَصْبَـحْ المُـلكُ للهِ رَبِّ العـالَمـين ، اللّهُـمَّ إِنِّـي أسْـأَلُـكَ خَـيْرَ هـذا الـيَوْم ، فَـتْحَهُ ، وَنَصْـرَهُ ، وَنـورَهُ وَبَـرَكَتَـهُ ، وَهُـداهُ ، وَأَعـوذُ بِـكَ مِـنْ شَـرِّ ما فـيهِ وَشَـرِّ ما بَعْـدَه 

We have entered upon the morning, and the whole kingdom of Allah, too, has entered upon morning. Praise is due to Allah. There is none who has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the One who has no partner with Him. His is the Sovereignty and to Him is praise due and He is Potent over everything. My Lord, I beg of Thee good that lies in this day and good that follows it and I seek refuge in Thee from the evil that lies in this day and from the evil of that which follows it. My Lord, I seek refuge in Thee from sloth, from the evil of vanity. My Lord, I seek refuge in Thee from torment of the Hell-Fire and from torment of the grave.
