The Melton Community Hub is a foundation for future generations. It provides a place for compassion and unity and empowers the community. A new community centre for Melton’s growing community in the western suburbs of Melbourne.
The project will establish a new community hub within Melton. It aims to serve the needs of the suburb’s rapidly growing community, where over 15,000 Muslims live and thrive.
The Muslim community in Melton increasingly needs a space to connect with community and nurture their children in. A community centre would also help bridge gaps between the Muslim and broader Melton community, fostering an environment of understanding, compassion and deep interfaith discussion.
The community hub project will be a central complex of buildings. Here, the community will be able to engage in a wide range of activities, including holding congregations and large-scale community events.
Once built, the community centre will be one of the largest in Australia in terms of land, at 27 acres. Planned facilities include a prayer building (Masjid Tawheed), gym, café, learning centres and other resources. These will serve to encourage unity in the diverse community and build social cohesion.
All in all, this project represents a crucial step in building a strong foundation for future generations, providing a place for the community and unity.
Masjid Tahweed Melton is actively fundraising to refurbish the 27 acres of land, to become this community centre that will serve the local Muslim and broader community immensely. Help us make this space a reality with your support!
