The House of Guidance

The House of Guidance is a not-for-profit organisation founded by a group of motivated Muslims to help our communities in Launceston and Hobart.

Our mission is to build a cohesive society. To promote the unity amongst all Australians based on mutual respect and tolerance between different groups.

This project is not simply about building a centre. It’s about creating a hub for community growth and support. For believers to come together for the sake of God to learn and practice his words, understand his commandments and extend his gifts. Our aims are derived from the noble Islamic teaching of spreading peace, helping the needy and bringing people together.

The House of Guidance Hobart

Recently, we’ve expanded our reach to Hobart. This connecting hub promotes social inclusion and community cohesion, providing community development programs, interfaith dialogue and cultural events that bring together diverse members of the Muslim and broader Australian community.

These initiatives include:

Community-Based Activities (to serve as a hub for educational, cultural, and social programs that bring people together).

Provide Temporary Accommodation for the Vulnerable (including the homeless and women experiencing domestic violence).

Empowerment of Women and Families (including training workshops, skills-development programs, and counselling services).

Support for People with Disabilities (ensure accessibility and provide tailored assistance for community members with physical or intellectual disabilities).

Assistance with Settlement and Refugee Support (offer guidance on visa issues, assist with administrative challenges, and collaborate with the local refugee centre to provide humanitarian and logistical support).

Youth Engagement and Development (create opportunities for youth programs, including sports, mentoring, leadership training).
Promotion of Social Harmony (facilitate interfaith dialogue and collaboration with the wider Hobart society).
