The Islamic Society of Geelong (ISG) serves as the central organisation representing the Muslim community in Geelong, Victoria. ISG plays an essential role in fostering community unity and positive engagement with the wider Australian society. Being established to support the religious, social, and educational needs of local Muslims,

ISG commits to providing a welcoming space for worship, education, and community development. This includes through advocacy, consultation, and collaboration with government bodies, interfaith organisations, service providers, and the media.

As a community-focused organisation, ISG encourages its members to actively contribute to society, and uphold social responsibility. As well as engage in meaningful initiatives that benefit both the Muslim and broader community.

ISG operates the Geelong Mosque, which serves as a religious and community hub, offering a range of services. These includes spaces for the facilitation of daily prayers, Jumu’ah (Friday) prayers, Nikkah (marriage) ceremonies, and funeral services. As well as a Sunday Islamic school for children.

Beyond its religious and social services, ISG acts as a platform for fostering unity, cooperation, and social cohesion. It provides a space for Muslims to come together, strengthen their faith, and contribute to the well-being of the broader society.
